Advanced backpacking skills course. The course is for both adults and mature youth (13+). Participants are expected to have some camping experience and a willingness to learn lightweight backpacking skills. The course aims to instill skills and confidence to go farther into the backcountry and see more of nature’s treasures. **SEE BELOW for Pre-requisites, which include a mandatory meeting on the evening of 9/27**

**Pre-requisites** (1) Meeting on Monday evening 9/27/21 at the Lewisboro Town Park Pavilion. Registration for this course includes your attendance at that meeting. (2) Participants should watch the 45 min University of Scouting presentation on “Intro to Backpacking”. (3) All participants require the BSA Medical forms A&B; Youth require Scoutmaster/Advisor approval form.

Whether you are an individual hiker or planning a Philmont trek – this course will improve your skills! Focusing on intermediate to advanced-level backpacking skills, the course is comprised of one evening of basics and weekend prep and one full weekend outdoors. Cost of $60 covers trail food costs for the weekend.

A minimum of 12 participants will be required to run this course, and a maximum of 8 youth will be allowed to participate (see registration). Sign up today!
